Pittsburgh 2010
March 12-13

Friday
On Friday, we started out looking good. The practice matches looked great, aside from a chain issue, and we scored almost all the points for our teams. Once the seeding matches began, we quickly rose up. After 2 matches we were the #5 seed, and we soon became #4, and soon after, #3. About noon, we added a simple suck, go, kick autonomous. We discovered that we were best in the offense position, and that as long as other robots moved balls to our section, we were golden. When the pits closed for the closing ceremonies, we were still in #3 seed. In the closing ceremony, we won the imagery award for our Cat Attack sign, our hats, and our tails. We also won the website award (yes, this is an award winning website you are reading right now), and Tom O won the Wodie Flowers Finalist Award.

Saturday
We came in with high hopes on Saturday, but soon lost two seeding matches, one due to our chain, bumping us down to #6 seed. After alliance selection, we were ready to win, until one of our partners said they had issues. We tied the first match 7-7, but lost the second. Our alliance partner did not want to bog us down, so we called in a replacement team, but our chain fell off just seconds into the match, rendering us immobile.
This was the highest seeding score we had gotten since 2003, and we have not been the alliance captain since Darkside (2006) This was also our best first competition.
